COMPONENTS

1.- TAPE
A cloth support with or without edging on which the individual or continuous teeth of the chain are mounted. It has the necessary width to allow it to be sewn to the piece of clothing and to allow the movement of the slider.

2.- CHAIN
A series of individual or continuous teeth which, when assembled
or disassembled, join or separate the two parts of the zip. The
widths of the chain allow the identification of the different types
of zip:

2NY:
• A continuous monofilament of poliamide (Ruhrmann system)

6NY:
• Monofilament helicoidal spiral in polyester.

3 y 5 METAL:
• Individual metal teeth.

4/6/9 MOL:
• Acetal teeth individually injected.

4 INVISIBLE:
• Monofilament spiral in polyester.

3.- SLIDER
The piece that slides over the chain and allows the function of the zip. It has a body and puller. The material in which it is constructed is basically zamak, an alloy of zinc, aluminium and copper with various finishes (e.g. painted, white brass, brass, old brass, gun metal).

SLIDER OPTIONS ACCORDING TO THE BLOCKING SYSTEM:

AUTOLOCK
It has an incorporated system of coordinated locking with the position of the puller. When the puller is moved, the system unlocks automatically and when it is left in its initial position, the locking is done automatically.

NONLOCK
This system does not have a locking system. That means that there is no need to exercise any force on the slider to move it.

SUPERMATIC
The puller incorporates a pin which is inserted between the teeth when in the horizontal position, and thus acting as an automatic slider, and as a nonlocking slider when the puller is not in the horizontal position.

4.- STOPS

4A. TOP STOPS:
Mounted at the ends of the chain on the edge of the tapes, the top stops limit the run of the slider at the top of the zip.

4B. BOTTOM STOPS:
Limit the run of the slider when the zip is completely open, maintaining the two halves united.

TYPES OF CLOSED ZIPS:

Staple

Injected

Needle 6NY

Welded

OPEN END SYSTEM:
Constituted by two components (box and pin) mounted on both sides of the lower ends of the zip in such a way that when the slider is moved to open the zip it reaches the end (box) and the tube can be removed from the box, allowing the zip to separate into two halves. To close the zip, the tube is introduced into the box.

Two ways open end system: This system is composed by two pins, one of them called fix and the other one, mobile. It permits the zipper to be opened also at its bottom part. It is equipped with two sliders.
